Do the diapers fit him? My son went through a stage like that, too where he always woke up wet. I don’t remember when it stopped, but I don’t think I went up a size or used overnights. I think maybe he stopped drinking so much and started to eat more.

Usually that’s what it means for my son. If he soaks through is diaper, I move up a size. And 9 times out of 10, the leaks stop. But there are random times where he may fall asleep early and have a wet diaper and if we don’t change him before bed, he will soak through regardless of the size. He pees a lot! :)

    try the huggies.

I think he’s just drinking more, because my son is doing the same thing. He has only soaked through once, and it was right after he got up. Recently he’s been taking a cup of milk to bed, and I think that’s why. I am not sure about the Huggies overnites, I have never tried them.

You don’t say how old the child is or what his night time routine is (how much he drinks).

Consider the next size up diaper, or go with an "overnight" – also make sure that the "hose" is pointed down before night time diapering. Boys do experience night time erections and this can lead to things pointing toward the open top edge the diaper. Try to make a point of "aiming" toward the more absorbent center of the diaper.

This was the mistake I made repeatedly with my son (had three girls – wasn’t used to having to aim things!). He would wake up with his shirt and sheets soaked half the time until I got used to properly diapering a boy.

How old is your son? If he is waking up wet in the front, then it might be the positioning of his private. That happened with my son a lot. It would be pointing up and squirt out the top. If he is just soaked in the morning then you may need a larger size or you might want to cut down on fluids before bed. Like don’t give him anything that last hour before bed. That helps my son a lot.

I’d try the next size diapers.

~~Try the Overnight Huggies and use the Diaper Inserts from Toys R Us…they worked great for my kids.~~

I found with my third that Huggies diapers leaked at night, we switched to a different diaper (luvs) and he never leaks. However, one of the little ones I daycare for used to leak all the time in his diapers so I suggested mom move up a size and that has worked great! If it’s only a nightly leak then I would try the larger diapers only at night…that way you save a bit of money:)

You might also try limiting dairy products, milk, ice cream and such, right before bed, too.

Huggies overnites do work according to people I know who use them, but I think that moving up a size should do the trick without you having to buy 2 different packs of diapers. My son, who is now 21 mos had the same problem when I used the cheaper diapers but when I use pampers or luvs I don’t have that problem. I have never been able to use huggies at all because they always leak for me but my sister-in-law swears by them for her son so it depends on the kid. If you have a big pee-er like I do then you should try pampers or luvs. If you already use them then try going up a size.

Maybe you should take away his tequila shot before bedtime

Good luck, I hope I helped. I am sorry for you lots

We used the huggies overnights with my son. I have a boy and a girl and my boy just produces a lot more urine than my girl. I think it is a boy thing.

Try the overnites and if they don’t work then get a bigger size.

  15. yeah actually, a lot of the comments so far have been right
