I think it’s an image thing like driving a BMW or wearing designer jeans. It lets you have the image that you only want the best for your kids. But the best for your kids might be having parents who are not as strapped financially.

The golden fleece of all diapers are actually cloth. Soft, cotton, absorbant, and no nasty chemicals.

I could careless about Huggies or Pampers! When my son was born of course i bought those brands but that all changed asap when they leaked like crazy. The only thing that worked were Luvs hands down the best diapers.

i buy generic, there is no way i am spending that much on diapers. the lady i babysit for does and i have told her tons of times to go get the big box of walmart diapers for 15.00. she would get 90 some diapers for the price she pays for huggies. plus we are trying to potty train her all the better to save on diapers when going through so many.

No, you’re not bad parents!! I have worked at a daycare with infants 6-12 months old for about 3 years now and I think the best diapers are Pampers Baby Dry and Luvs. That’s based on leaks and amount of stuff the diapers hold. I think Huggies suck!! Generics are fine too but I’ve seen a lot of babies break out from them. If they work for your baby then you should save yourself the money!!

Drypers worked really well for my daughter until they changed the design. they no longer have elastic on the back.
They were not a brand name and still worked fine! Now we use Pampers Cruisers. Personally i never liked Huggies.

Cloth diapers are the ‘golden fleece’ of all diapers. Disposable diapers are garbage, literally.

    LOL Golden fleece…

The Huggies Supreme diapers really are great diapers. I have used many different brands of diapers in the past, and now I stick to Huggies Supreme unless I’m super broke.

Personally, I think the extra price is worth it for the better diaper. The tabs don’t rip off easily, and if your child is a squirmer like mine is, that makes a huge difference. They don’t leak, even overnight. My daughter wakes up with a super-wet diaper, but her pj’s and bedding are still dry. So really, I’m saving money buying the more expensive diaper, because I don’t have to be washing bedding several times a week. They also keep her skin drier and she’s less likely to get diaper rash wearing the Huggies. Regular Huggies are good too, but I prefer the Supreme. They have a better fit. And yes, I partly pay for Pooh and Tigger on the diaper. My 18 month old daughter loves Pooh and Tigger, and she likes having them on her diaper, so she’s less likely to try and take it off. I have one of those kids that likes to take her clothes off and run around naked, so if a few extra cents per diaper means she keeps it on, I’m willing to pay it.

Yeah i agree with what the person above Say’s. Some people just by them for the image, like clothing brands – Nike, Reebok, Adidas.

When i buy my son nappies i just buy what i can get. I try to go to a supermarket to get there own brand instead of a local shop because you are mostly stuck with pampers and Huggies. I really don’t find any difference between them and the cheaper brands.

To be honest i would rather buy the cheaper nappies, save £1 or £2 per week. That is quite a big saving in the long run.

Girl, I am so sick of all the hype about the more expensive diapers. I have had four kids and I have used different kinds of diapers, but I end up always going back to Luvs. That is what works best for my kids. My kids would leak through the more expensive brands faster then Luvs. I don’t think you are bad parents, just use what is best for you.

I tried these with my infant and they are much to stiff and kept coming right off. I use Pampers Swaddlers and they are softer and form to her bottom better. I never noticed a difference in absorbancy so I figure I’ll use what works. I’ll probably try out cheaper brands when she starts getting a little older. She is only 6 days old right now. You are a fine mom. Don’t worry about it.

  11. shorty says:

I use huggies. They only leak when the diapers are really full.

You are not bad parents. :) I have used different kinds of diapers since my daughter was a newborn and I finally switched to Luvs. I think they work better, but it is my own personal opinon. LOL.

    NO!
I don’t have kids, but a lot of my friends do and it all depends on what works for you! for my aunt, pampers worked best for her daughter! She leaked in everything else, i babysit a littl girl who has another store brand. I don’t think it matters what price range or brand etc… as long as they work great for your little one. Some works better for boys, some different for girls… it’s up to the baby!

i love huggies supreme, but im also poor. one day i went to costco and got a case of kirkland signature diapers there because we couldnt afford the huggies supreme. let me tell you, they are exactly the same! they have two leak guards down the sides, and stretchy elastic in the back of the waist band, the two most important features in my opinion. ill never spend three times as much again. recently, we got even poorer, if thats possible, and i saw target brand diapers for $5 a pack. i figured id give them a try, and theyre actually not too bad, they have the elastic in the waist band, unlike pampers… though they only have one leak guard down the side. so far so good though, and theyre probably the cheapest diapers out there.

  15. momof3 says:

Nope, not bad parents at all!!
Like it was said above, you do what works for you!
Oh how I wish I could have used store brand diapers! I would have saved me some cash! lol
I could only use Pampers for my first daughter, she would get rashes with Huggies & store brand diapers(mind you,I didn’t have access to Target or Kirkland’s diapers).I think I used Huggies for my second daughter(no leaks). And for my son, well, Huggies Supreme were the only ones that would “contain” my son’s pee at night!

  16. cleo says:

no your not bad parents at all. Basically if it does the same job as the cheaper brand then who cares…. why waste money? Dont worry wa your friends say.. if they want to blow their mney on diapers then let them… but you have compared the diapers now to ease your mind and now you know the difference.
