That would depend on your baby’s weight at birth. Large babies will go into the next size sooner than smaller babies. I wouldn’t buy more than a month’s worth of newborn diapers. In a pinch you can always use a diaper the next size up.
I had too many and they let me exchange them for the right size. Oooh, I liked the gift card idea. smart. Maybe a package of newborns and a couple of ones to start in case you don’t feel like getting out right after the baby is born.
as many as you can! you dont want to buy every size at once, my daughter didnt even use a couple of the sizes at the time she was suppose to. you never know till it comes up, the time she was the "age" to wear the size 2(medium) they were too big so she stayed in the 1(small). nothing wrong, she just wasnt ready to move a size, shes petite to. so just go with the "flow" haha. hope it helps.
I’d buy no more than two packages of size 1 – don’t buy any newborn until you find out how big or small your baby is – newborn size was too small for all three of my kids as newborns.
It’s been my experience that size 2 and 3 will be the size the kid will be in for the longest periods of time.
If you end up having a HUGE baby who is too big for size 6 (the largest size available) someday before he’s ready to potty train, I just discovered GOODNIGHTS, and they are wondefully roomier.
wait until your baby shower if you have one. you get a lot of diapers than but if you dont have a babyshower then just buy 1 package of size newborn not know how big your baby is going to be you really dont want to stack up on diapers
I wouldn’t recommend buying any newborn size diapers, or if you do, maybe just one package. Size 3 and 4 are the size that they are in the longest. My daughter is 6 months, and is just outgrowing size 3. I went through about 6 or 7 size 1, and only about 2 packages of size 2. She’s been in size 3 for a few months. God Bless and congratulations!!
only 1 pack of newborns. and only a few pack of 1′s. 2 you will need more of so you can by about 3 packs of those. and 3′s are the same. the lady who said you can exchange them had a good idea. good luck, congrats!
blessed be.
If you haven’t had a baby shower yet I would recommend that you wait until then. Without even asking or hinting many of my friends and family bought packs of diapers along with other gifts. It really helped! Also, I hate to admit it, but sometimes you will get something that you know you won’t need or maybe get a duplicate and if it’s from somewhere like Babies R Us or Target you can return it for store credit. That totally helped us out because now my son is 2 1/2 months old and we have yet to purchase diapers. Also, my mother-in-law bought us a pack of Kirkland diapers from Costco so we could test out the quality (because you don’t want leaking diapers) and to be honest, they have worked out great and we firgured with the amount that comes in a pack and the cost of them it actually gives us about 20 more diapers then the normal name brand. Hope this information helped and the best of luck to you and your family-to-be!
Don’t not buy any newborn diapers unless you are going to have a baby less than 6lbs. Take an empty duffel bag with you to the hospital and fill it with newborn diapers, receiving blankets, burp cloths, formula ( even if you are going to nurse), nose suction bulbs, cotton squares and anything else you might use. Give someone the job to keep requesting supplies and pulling it off the bassinet shelf. Just don’t have it in an open bag because there is always one party-pooper nurse in the crowd. It’s even better if you have the room next to the linen closet and can just do one stocking. Then, as for store purchases…buy several packages of Pamper’s Swaddler #1. This particular diaper is a little more tapered and has tape for closures. Your goal as a mommy is to get baby filling the newborn diapers with so much pee that this size diaper does not hold the amount of waste your infant is putting out. Those dirty newborn diapers mean baby is putting on weight and mommy is doing a great job. If you are having a boy and will be circumcising, then go ahead and put him in the #1′s so his penis is not sitting in wet and it gets some air and will heal faster. Just remember to wrap the diaper around the thigh and make a snug fitting leg. They may be very high on their body and look silly but, baby is swaddled back up soon enough and no one has any idea except the peditrician who gave you an A+ at your 2 week visit and sent you home and told you to keep doing what your doing all because your baby regained his birth weight and then some! After that, go with the flow. But, when your baby stops pooping in the middle of the night and is sleeping 4+ hour stretches at night, then back to the big diaper rule at night! If baby wears #2 during the day then #3 at night. So on and so forth through the year. Especially if it is a boy!! They start with the penis issues right away and they are the first to tell you "nobody likes a wet/cold penis" and if that happens then nobody will be sleeping in the house.
Well, as far as newborn, I didn’t have to use them. My daughter started in a 1 and moved up after one bag. She kinda skipped a two and moved right on to a three. She is now only 9 months old and for the last several months she has been in a size 4. It all depends on the brand that you buy also. Some are alot stretchier than others so they will fit different sizes. I like Huggies Supreme the best b/c you can vary between a couple sizes and it will still fit. Just make sure that you don’t open your packages until time to use them b/c if you buy them at a big chain store like Wal-Mart, you can exchange them for a different size. I would also recommend stocking up on wipees, too. If you buy diapers and wipes by the "box", you save lots of money and believe me, you will use them. Good luck!! And smart planning to buy ahead like that.
i would only buy 1 package of newborns cause you never know how big your baby will be then buy at least 2 packages of size 1. it all depends my 3 month old is in size 3 and and my 18 month old is in size 3 as well, it all depends just remember keep receipts just in case, but in the beginning you will go through alot of diapers.
even if you do buy to many they will she exchange them for a bigger size if you need to. you really should not buy a lot of one kind cuz your baby could be allergic to them but if you do buy them just keep the receipt from them
1 pack newborn… 2 packs size 2.. as many as you like size three.. but storing them all would be a PAIN… I like the Gift Card Idea BEST!!! That way you know the money is there for diapers.. but you don’t have to store them and they will be the right size.

I would buy a couple of different packets of each sizes so you will have a start at least and the left overs you have you can us up as well.
Just buy as you use them. That would be more simple and less money on your pocket.
